40 years of the Cancer Information Service: Help with cancer questions
The DKFZ service supports people seeking advice by phone, email and online with accessible, evidence-based information.
DKFZ’s Cancer Information Service marks its 40th anniversary in 2026. Launched as a telephone service in 1986, it now uses several channels to address questions about diagnosis, treatment options and reliable information sources.
The publicly funded service works independently. It helps people understand research and distinguish reliable information from advertising or misinformation. The anniversary announcement links to the existing information service.
